Some pieces just dance on the shelf! Some of our favorite pieces at Relish Decor are our Charley Harper + Todd Oldham glassware collaborations with iconic New York brand Fishs Eddy. We’re obsessed with the minimal realism that captures so much movement and life!
A Little Harper History
Harper’s art career started while fighting in World War II and making sketches of the sites, both beautiful and horrific. After the war, he enrolled in art school and started illustrating science textbooks and pamphlets. Frustrated by the creative restrictions of realism, he began experimenting with design elements. Inspired by a road trip across the American Midwest with his wife, Edie, he began drawing animals and landscapes using simple shapes, reducing them to basic lines and curves.
His art features bright colors, bold lines, and busy but easily readable movement. Glassware is a perfect fit for such daring designs; the translucence highlights Harper’s signature whimsy and attention to detail.
Some of our favs
A Relish favorite includes the Cardinal Courts glass, featuring brilliant red cardinals caught a flutter in shapes. Check out the eclectic and sweet wine glass set, featuring a variety of Harper’s most vibrant prints, from his Southwestern cactus landscape to a betta fish floating among bubbles.
Add some iconic art to your permanent glassware collection. You’ll love having them in your kitchen.
