Baby it’s cold outside…let’s go to the beach! Keena and Greg said their ‘I dos’ on the powder sugar sands of Punta Cana. The azure skies and gentle waves inspired the blue color palette. But it wasn’t just the location’s unforgettable beauty that made an impression. It was also the generous character of the happy couple. In lieu of gifts, they requested donations be made to the local medical organization and Keena passed on her gorgeous wedding gown to a local woman. The union of these two souls is sure to spark many destination wedding dreams!
Keena’s dress featured a floral one-shoulder design. Feminine gathered pleats and floral appliques added a lovely romantic touch and drew to mind the lush tropical foliage. For their first look, Greg walked to his bride on a sea foam colored bridge beneath a canopy of trees.
Contrasting the mainly cobalt decor, Keena had a bouquet bursting with hot pink blooms. Greg wore a classic khaki suit, ideal for their beach side ceremony. Large shells weighed down aburlap aisle runner, giving thier square of sand a more formal feeling. Meanwhile, loved ones sat in ribbon festooned chairs and looked up at the billowing blue archway.
Later in the day, turquoise and white lanterns illuminated the reception space. Rather than traditional centerpieces, the newlyweds displayed arrangements of sea shells and blue votive candle holders. Fish net runners and scatterings of sea glass beads completed the table settings.
After dinner, guests were treated to a rousing Dominican dance performance. Then the celebration really started! The single tiered cake and tower of blue frosted cupcakes satisfied everyone’s sweet tooth. At the end of the evening, the party moved outside to release a fleet of lanterns into the sparkling sky.
